Therapeutic interventions available for Children and Teens to improve their Mental and Emotional Wellbeing. Using proven techniques and a compassionate approach, we help young people and their parents overcome barriers, manage stress, and build lasting confidence.

Relax Kids

Relax Kids is recognised by psychologists to support children's mental and emotional well being. Each session follows a seven step program involving stretching/yoga, creative activities, breathing games and relaxation. Children are taught to understand their emotions and a range of tools and techniques to help them manage them. Child will calm their body and mind whilst improving their self esteem, confidence and build resilience.

Sessions are 60 minutes and last for 6 weeks

Drawing and Talking

Drawing and Talking is a popular and gentle therapeutic intervention that can help children express themselves, process emotions and improve their self esteem. It provides an effective way for children and young people to process emotional pain or trauma. It is the number one alternative to CBT and talking therapies. Drawing and Talking allows individuals to discover and communicate emotions through a non- directed approach.

Sessions are 30 minutes and last for 12 weeks.

Teen Coaching

Teen Life Coaching provides critical support, assisting teenagers in developing essential life skills, gaining clarity and setting achievable goals. Coaching is carried out in a calm and supportive environment where adolescents feel comfortable to discuss concerns, fears and goals. Teen Life Coaching can be a powerful tool that can help young people overcome challenges, develop resilience and achieve their personal goals.

Sessions last 60 minutes and last for 6 weeks

AN EXPERIENCED COACH

Hello, my name is Amy, I am a Mum to four beautiful children, a Nursery Lead and Family Coach. As an Early Years Teacher I love supporting children and their families and have been doing so for twenty years. 

For as long as I can remember I have been passionate about improving Mental Health. Although I have undertaken a wealth of training I have also experienced the vast benefits of many therapeutic interventions that have drastically improved my own wellbeing and now I help others to learn how to lead happier and healthier lives. My training includes a degree in Psychology and Counselling, Level 3 Early Years Educator, Early Years Teacher Status, Diplomas in Holistic Therapy, Diploma in Life Coaching, Certificate in Teen Coaching, Relax Kids training plus much more.

I set up The Calm Project to provide a safe and supportive space to help children, teens and their parents through 1:1 Coaching sessions to  learn a range of tools and techniques to help them take charge of their own lives, overcoming barriers and getting to a place where they feel more in control, calmer with improved Mental Wellbeing.

  • What is the youngest age you work with? Relax Kids sessions can be tailored to children aged 3-12. Drawing and Talking is suitable for children and young people aged 5 years+. We recommend children be over the age of 6 to work over zoom with us but you know your child best and if they would benefit from online coaching.  We can also work with teens and parents of any age!         

  • Where are sessions held? Sessions can be held at your child's school, at your home or online.

  • What if you don't think we are a good fit? We are not qualified to diagnose or treat mental health disorders. We may feel that your needs would be best met by a licensed mental health practitioner. Sometimes we may be able to work alongside you seeing another professional.           

  • What can you help me with? Coaching can help with a range of things including anxiety, stress management, setting goals, improving confidence and emotional intelligence.                     

  • How long do sessions last? Relax Kids and Teen Coaching Sessions last 60 minutes and 6 sessions are recommended but can carry on for as long as is needed. Some people may want regular contact, some may find 6 sessions is enough. Drawing and Talking sessions last 30 minutes and continue for 12 weeks.
